Optimal-V (Vitamines) Optimal-M (Minerals)
The difference between vitamins and minerals
* Vitamins are organic micronutrients that are obtained naturally from plants and animals.
* Minerals are inorganic and originate in the earth through soil and water.
* Vitamins can be divided into fat-soluble & water-soluble groups and minerals into macro-minerals & trace minerals.
* Each vitamin and mineral has a different function, and your body functions best when all are in balance.
Vitamins and minerals have an amazing teamwork system that often makes them work more efficiently when absorbed together. For example, the body is able to absorb iron with the help of vitamin C, and vitamin D is important in helping the body more efficiently absorb needed amounts of the minerals phosphorus and calcium.
Where does the coated trace mineral complex come from in the Optimal-M?
The trace minerals complex ingredient is a naturally-occurring blend of minerals extracted from the Great Salt Lake, containing Magnesium, Sodium, and Potassium.
The Optimals (Optimal-M + Optimal-V)
Our vitamins and minerals, also known as The Optimals, feature a proprietary blend of bioavailable nutrients, which supports critical cellular function in the body. Formulated in properly balanced ratios for daily use,
the Optimals also feature the requisite cofactors for proper vitamin and mineral utilization in the body.
Are skin reactions to the Optimals normal?
Slight itching and rash-like symptoms are rare but do happen. Your skin is your body’s largest organ and is therefore often affected when you alter your nutritional intake. Vitamin A and niacin both contribute largely to these symptoms. Your body should naturally adjust to the supplements within 1-2 weeks.
You can decrease your dose to alleviate symptoms. If they persist, or get worse, stop taking Optimals immediately and contact your physician.
Are the Optimals on PDR.net?
Yes they are! Here is the link to that page: http://www.pdr.net/full-prescribing-information/optimals?druglabelid=3510
Can I take the Optimals while taking the prescription medication Coumadin (Warfarin)?
Coumadin, also known as Warfarin, is a prescription blood thinner that works by blocking vitamin K from doing its job in the liver to produce clotting products. Therefore, many physicians become concerned when patients who are taking Coumadin (Warfarin) also take supplements that contain vitamin K. ARIIX Optimals contain 45 mcg of vitamin K per recommended dose (three capsules).
It is crucial that you inform your physician of your desire to take ARIIX Optimals while also taking Coumadin. Recent studies have shown that consuming a modest amount of vitamin K while also taking Coumadin allows for greater control of the blood’s Protime, or measurement of thinning. Your physician will make adjustments to the dose of Coumadin (Warfarin) you are prescribed based on ongoing Protime measurements. Therefore, if you decide to take your Optimals in conjunction with Coumadin (Warfarin) it is critical that you are consistent in taking your supplements. This will allow your physician to make the appropriate adjustments to the amount of medication you are prescribed. In most cases, many individuals are able to take the Optimals in conjunction with Coumadin;
however, this decision is ultimately up to your physician.
Can I take the Optimals with medication?
In most cases-yes. The nutrients found in the Optimal capsules are the same nutrients you find in your foods; however, because of supplementation you are able to consume these nutrients at levels you can’t get from your foods. Therefore, if your physician allows you to eat, you can take your supplements. The only precaution would be if you are taking a blood thinner known as Coumadin or Warfarin. Do I need to take the full dosage recommended for the Optimals each day?
he Optimals have been designed to provide advanced levels of essential nutrients shown to provide a health benefit communicated through medical literature. Dr. Strand refers to this as cellular nutrition. A one-a-day multivitamin is based on RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance), which was established as the minimal amount needed to avoid acute deficiency diseases like pellagra or scurvy.
Numerous studies have shown no significant health benefits from one-a-day multivitamins. However, there are thousands of studies that show health benefits from supplementing a healthy diet with the optimal or advanced levels of nutrients found in ARIIX’s Optimals. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to consume the recommended amount of supplements that appears on the bottles.
Is it best to take the Optimals with or without food?
It is always best to take your nutritional supplements with a meal. This allows your body to absorb the nutrients more efficiently and with a greater degree of tolerance. Having food in your stomach will significantly improve the absorption of the nutrients in your Vitamin and Mineral capsules.
What are the children’s dosages for the Optimals?
Children ages 5 to 8 years of age: We recommend giving children in this age group one Optimal-M capsule along with one Optimal-V capsule per day. If they are unable to swallow a pill or capsule, the contents of the capsule can be poured into a drink or meal replacement shake like ARIIX Pure Nourish. You certainly can blend in different frozen fruits to make these drinks tastier. However, you will not change the potency or the ability to absorb these nutrients by doing this.
Children 9 to 12 years of age (with weight ranging from 75 to 100 pounds): We recommend 2 Optimal-V capsules per day along with 1 Optimal-M capsule per day for this age group. Again, if they are not able to swallow pills or capsules you can follow the recommendations noted above.
Children 13 to 18 years of age (weight range 100 to 120 pounds. If weight is more than 120 pounds, use adult dosage recommendations): We recommend giving children in this age group one-half the adult dose of The Optimals daily. This would be three Optimal-V capsules and two Optimal-M capsules per day in divided doses-2 Optimal-V capsules and 1 Optimal-M Capsule with breakfast and 1 Optimal-V capsule and 1 Optimal-M capsule with the evening meal.
What is the recommended dosage for the Optimals?
The recommended dosage for Optimal-V is 3 tablets, twice daily.
The recommended dosage for Optimal-M is 2 tablets, twice daily.
What is the source of the green stamp on the Optimal-V capsules?
The green stamp is from chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is the green pigment found in plants and algae.
Why do I feel nauseated after taking the Optimals?
Stomach upset and nausea are common symptoms and indicate that your body is adjusting to the new vitamins and minerals you’re taking. To ease this problem, make sure you’re taking all supplements with food. Not only will this help relieve symptoms, but certain micronutrients and cofactors in food actually help increase absorption of nutrients in the supplements.
Your body should naturally adjust to your new diet within 1-2 weeks, alleviating symptoms. If not, please contact your physician.
Why is my urine bright yellow after taking the Optimals?
This is a harmless side effect of taking highly concentrated supplements. It simply means that you’re eliminating any excess vitamins your body doesn’t need. Unneeded vitamin C, riboflavin, and water-soluble vitamins are flushed from the body every day and can discolor your urine.
